Still Here, Still Fighting

Green light

What is this? A blog post from the beloved Jagger (Fury)?! Is this magic? Are there pigs flying? Are cheaters actually calling their hits?!

I am not sure if the last thing will ever happen, but we can all dream right? But yes, I am back! I went on a little hiatus for a little bit but I am back with more knowledge and skillz than seen before! So, yes, I was a chairsofter but lets not get into that!

Anyways, despite my break I have been itching to sling BBs at other grown men playing dress up for the longest time. I have found myself in a new AO but finding new players and fields is just part of the fun! So, look forward to seeing more of BAR adventures from the eye of a panda loving player!

Bonus Round

You may or may not have noticed the video at the top of the page. If you didn't notice it then I highly suggest you increase your situational awareness. In all seriousness, playing First-Person Shooters really help there, but that's a topic for another day...  FOR NOW THE VIDEO!

The video is a quick little edit of using a Krytac at MilSim City, my favorite date spot. My dates are the guns I take so they always seem to enjoy it, if they could talk I am sure they would agree. I only played this one game with the Krytac because I wanted to see how they roll, and long story short: KRYTACS ARE AMA-ZA-FRICKIN-ZING!

The trigger response was quick, accuracy was very good and it was light and solid. I would highly suggest for anyone to jump on that Krytac-hype train because it is real. If I wasn't saving up for a HPA platform then you know you would see me running a Krytac!

Check out the video, tell me what you think! Leave a comment below and tell me what you'd like to see in future posts and what would tickle your fancy!

Unless you've been abducted by nefarious OpFor in some foreign country or you've been living in your nuclear bunker I'm sure you've heard of the biggest and baddest airsoft arena in Utah, MilSim City!

These guys have been open since January of this year, yet there are many airsofters who have not had the privilege to attend a game at this modular and intense indoor field! The awesome guys who run the place want to change that!

To celebrate the new arena an Airsoft Con of sorts has been organized at this very arena! The point of this is to check out the arena and to meet the owners! But that's not all! Airsoft vendors, real steel vendors, LE, airsoft teams, and much more will be represented! There will be free popcorn and drinks, but you can also get some valuable safety tips from Law Enforcement personnel as well!

Still need more incentive to go? Check out the MSC Kill House and live your SWAT Officer  dreams! Don't have a CQB gun? Enter the raffle and test your luck to win an awesome replica!

Of course, Black Angels Recon will be represented here so be sure to come by and say Hi to Noble and myself as you explore what MSC has to offer! So come on down, have some fun, win some free stuff and finally say you've gone to the best Airsoft Arena Utah has to offer!

I Live for fights like this

Picture
There are days that when I airsoft I feel completely satisfied and that every ounce of my body has been drained of energy. These days Im all smiles and everything just seems to go right!

February 28, 2015 was definitely one of those days!

For this game we just wanted to keep things simple and just have some pure fun! The day was suppose to be rainy and cold but as fate would have it, the weather wasnt really that bad! It was perfect to sling BBs at each other!

There was the usual briefing and the warm up game to get things really moving. Clarity, my Mustang Customs M4, was having some external issues so I let one of my personal techs, Jaden T, work on her as I proceeded to use an Echo1 XCR(that went down) then my King Arms M16 MOE, which I ended up only shooting 15 rounds cause the game ended.

Picture

Extraction- Round 1

Picture
After the Warm-Up game the fun dial was kicked up to 12! We had a new game type that was created by our very own Gunner. For this game we used Gunner's truck for an extraction. Sounds simple right?

Well... Do Walmart guns have better performance than VFCs?

Heck no.

The objective was for a squad of 8 to bunker down and hold Fort Crater from an opposing force of 30+ until the extraction vehicle reached the hot zone. But it doesnt end there! The Lone Squad still has to flee the hot zone in the truck, at least until it could cross into the green zone. The road for the truck to take spanned the whole 82nd field which means that life was going to suck until the truck exfiled out.

For the first squad (my squad), rules were a bit harder. we could only respawn once through a medic. After that you were dead. Which proved to become a very steep hill to climb, or so to speak. There was a bit of relief  from the  two Support gunners that accompanied the vehicle. But would it be enough?

The game started as our Lone Squad hunkered down into Fort Crater. The truck took about 10 minutes to traverse the terrain to get to us. But it sure was fierce fighting until the extraction vehicle reached us. The Gunners were spitting out BBs as the hill above Fort Crater was getting swarmed. We agreed to move to the truck in pairs, in which Rabbit and I volunteered to be the last.

The extraction itself was where it became deadly. Very rapidly, our squad was getting cut down. My rifle even went down, leaving me with Faith, my Elite Force 1911 Tac. Rabbit and I moved towards the truck and tried to take cover behind it as the Op4 circled the Fort. I was shot in the back and I thought I was done for until the only other survivor , Jaden, reached out and revived me for my last life.

After this happened we smacked the side of the truck to signal we had to go. Sadly our squad was decimated and there was only Jaden, Rabbit and I. Even our brave Gunners died at the extraction point. But remember it wasn't over yet, we still had to leave!

The truck started moving forward and we jogged along side it because we could not get in without getting shot on the other side. The hail of BBs followed our truck and I made the call to just sprint to the blue machine and wait for the truck to pull up to us so that we can actually jump in. I dont think Ive ever sprinted so fast in an airsoft game in my life!

We all piled in and layed down in the truck bed. There was no way that we could trade back fire without getting lit up. Luckily I had my Faith so I could actually shoot out if need be. Someone slapped the window to let the driver know we were in. Then he took off, as soon as we left the cover of the blue machine the hail of BBs returned. Thousands of BBs started to ping off the truck, which just confirmed that laying down was a great idea. The drive took 7 minutes or so but it seemed like forever.

A brave Op4 soldier, Stalker, rushed up to the side of the truck bed and shot Rabbit, fortunately keeping my pistol out was a good idea and I laid 3 rounds into him. That was Rabbits first hit so Jaden proceeded to revive him. Another Op4 soldier seemed to be thinking of doing the same thing but I let out a volley of BBs in his direction to dissuade him. Then I executed one of the fastest reloads with a pistol that Ive ever done!

Finally relief was in sight! We screeched to a halt in front of Highlander Tower. We all jumped out as fast as we could, I shot a few rounds at the approaching Op4 as Jaden held the side of of the Tower. Rabbit and I reached the Tower  which signaled the conclusion of the game.

I scanned the area and when it dawned on me that the game was over I finally holstered my pistol and set out a sigh of relief. Then I proceeded to scream and shot with joy!

Extraction- Round 2

With as much fun as I had during that Extraction game we had to have others experience that adrenaline pumping action!

We changed a few rules to make it a little bit easier for the Lone Squad. The Lone Squad had unlimited respawn in the Fort and the Gunners could respawn every 15 seconds. Then there was Havoc squad, which was a 4 man squad designed to relieve the stuck squad. With these additions I really hoped to see more than 3 make it!

I volunteered for Havoc squad which consisted of me, Das, Hawk and Jaden. I couldnt wait to get some payback! Clarity was good to go as well so maybe this time I could really lay down some fire!

Havoc started with the Truck as the game started. At first we stayed with the truck until I suggested we join the Extracting Squad at Fort Crater. So we cut across the field and joined the survivors.  We joined them in repelling the Op4 until we saw the truck, once it was in sight Havoc moved towards the dirt piles to relieve pressure on the Extracting squad. This was an excellent strategy because they were able to load up without having as many issues as we did.

Havoc moved towards the blue machine to rendezvous with the truck. We stayed out of the truckbed and followed from the side. I stayed back to make sure no one was left behind. But by the time I was sure the truck was already pretty far out. I decided to fall back to Fort Crater and proceeded to start a one man war against the Op4. Which, I was faring pretty well. The truck started rolling by and I followed until someone from the truck, despite my friendly calls, shot me. I dramatically fell to the earth and bled out.

I gave my life to ensure the extraction. I later found out a majority of the team made it. But then again it was a lot easier! ;)

Whats your team name?

The fun didn't stop there! So we went on to play a very popular game-type called "Red Rover", basically when you shoot someone that person joins your team and you keep going until there is no one left except your team. We had enough guys to separate into groups of three. My group was Slaughterbot and Rabbit.  We started out near the hobohut and immediately as the game started we were knifed and we joined "Whats your team's name". You know that caused some confusion ;)

Now with our team of 6 we pushed South and made contact with 2 squads. Hawk and I decided to pick up a piece of plywood and we used it at one giant riot shield. This is my first time using any sort of mobile cover. If I do it again in the future I need to work out my forearms. The shield saved us from a squad directly in front of us. Jaden took out that squad by himself while I took out one that just happened to ambush the rest of us.

We kept pushing South and cleared the field to HoboTown. Once it was clear our team had now become 15ish or so. Then we pushed West. The riot shield really came in handy here as we took Fort Crater. BBs were slamming into the shield but with Hawks accuracy and my suppressing fire we killed anyone in front of us. Our team was now in the high 20 or low 30 range.

Still had 15 guys or so. Hawk and I lead the Southern push while Das took the Northern. The shield gave our side a distraction and a rally point and continued to do so until we took out the last guy near the fire hydrant. Running a riot shield with Hawk was a real blast and I wouldn't mind doing it again!
Picture

Das's Favorite Game-Type

At this point I decided to play the Lone Ranger variant,(Dr. Das LOVES this game-type). Rules for that game-type can be found here. For the first game we chose Nate and Gummy to be the Rangers. Long story short there was about 30 of us and Nate decimated us with his fancy custom gun! I think we only played for like 15 minutes before we got overrun. I was taken out about halfway in. I can't even remember that first game to be honest. I just remember it happened sooooooo fast.

The second game went a little longer because Nate and his evil fancy gun wasn't against us that time. The 2 Rangers had a bit more of a difficult time taking us on, so I started shooting my own team members. It finally snowballed up and we really had one heck of a fight! I was among the last to stay alive and got a few kills until a shotgun killed me...
Picture

My Last Game

I had to go to work so we decided to play one last game. This was just a force-on-force game which evolved into a 3-way fight because me and 7 others decided to create our own team. We were the Ivan Squad! This game went pretty well, we assaulted Fort Crater then backed off and assault the other team. Eventually time ran out.

But this was literally one of the best days of airsoft that Ive ever had! So much action, so much fun, so wow! I live for these games and they really test me physically and mentally. Which is why I airsoft! If you like what you read then please join us! We would love to have you! If you have any comments or suggestions then please leave me a comment below! Until next time...

A different Point of View

Picture
Das
You may or may not notice that the writing style and personality of this post is a little bit different than normal. The reason for that being that I, Fury, did not write this wonderful AAR but instead was written by Dr. Das. Who is a newly added member of BAR who has been playing with us for a very long time. This guy does a heck of a job writing this AAR. Now, things are a little bit different. If you are a BAR patched member I would like for you to make a comment on this post and let us know what happened and what we could improve on. Im not asking for a full AAR but I would like a discussion below! So, please, we would love to hear your 2 cents! Now on to Dr. Das...

Getting in the Crap

PictureNoble, Fury, Mustang, Yin Yang
This post is meant to be an informal AAR/Open discussion in which we ask ourselves...
 - What was supposed to happen?

- What did happen?

- What are some improvements?

- What worked?

-What can be done to improve operations next time?

(Please comment in the comment section below.)

I will also be including my own account (Dr. Das) of the events that occurred on Saturday, January 21, 2015 OP: BOE VS. BAR

Note: Games are not in perfect chronological order

Always preform gear checks….

After learning the hard way, I have made it a necessity to always preform pre-game gear checks. Usually, I do this once a few days before the event and once the day of. It is important to go over all of your gear making sure it’s secure and functioning properly. This event, I had the pleasure of discovering that my headset jack had snapped and that my primary weapon had stopped functioning completely. Better to find out before the OP then during.

Check your cover, check your flank…

The first game was a simple warm up game between BAR and BOE. Unfortunately, this one was a short one for me. I teamed up with an old teammate and started pushing east down the middle of the field. We got to a concrete bridge and noticed that our north flank was receiving heavy casualties. It was hard to see any OPFOR from our location so we moved up to a pallet house near the middle of the field. After getting up to the pallet house I took cover. Noticing I was exposed to fire coming from the south I attempted to get myself between a berm and some wood to shield myself from the incoming rounds. By that point the OPFOR had smashed through our northern forces thereby creating a pincer maneuver and making minced meat of our guys in the middle. I took a round to the leg, while my partner was taken out shortly after by a group of three OPFOR charging over the berm.

I’ll trade you my gun for a radio…

The second game we switched sides and decided to mimic BOE’s strategy of pushing hard on the north flank. I charged with a rather large team of angels toward the northern pallet houses. Our objective, as I understand it, was to move up as far as we could on the north and then swing south just as the enemy had done the previous game. We made it to the second pallet house before our charge was stalled. I saw what I perceived to be a huge tactical error on our part at this point. 90% of our guys were behind a single pallet house, creating a huge amount of crowding. One Thunderb, a well executed flank, or heavy gunner *cough* p* user *cough* could effectively squash any attempt of gaining ground. I decided to hang back in the first pallet house and get comm’s online with command. Unfortunately, running open comms was surprisingly more difficult than with a headset. I found it hard to hear command. I realized how rusty I was when using the radio. Radio communication is always meant to be short and precise, I found myself droning on and not making myself clear, this is something I’ll have to work on. Our advance was halted due to the enemy’s superior firepower, we could not push up because we were too heavily pinned. Getting the communications online and utilizing it effectively was paramount in this situation. Regrettably, I feel as if I failed this task. If I could have radioed in for one or maybe two more heavy gunners, I believe we could have continued with the push.

Killing the enemy is only a means to an end. NEVER LOSE SIGHT OF YOUR OBJECTIVE…

This next game I would like to touch on involves the first “capture the flag” type scenario in which our objective was to capture flags situated around the field, bring them back to a designated defensive location, and protect them. I was tasked with joining a team to defend the flags that were brought back. When “game on!” was called my team rushed to our defensive location, I saw one or two of guys rush off in the wrong direction directly toward the enemy. A few seconds into the game and already we had players forget what we were supposed to be doing XD. We made it to our defensive positions and immediately received contact from our West and from the tree line to the north. Good hustle OPFOR, well played. With the limited range on my back up rifle I wasn’t in any position to lay effective fire on the enemy. After a team member to my left was taken out and a commander yelling for retreat I decided to bound back to regroup. The decision was made to clear out the tree line to the North. I made my way through the forest with Jaden and Slaughterbot, after a few hairy moments of getting pinned by OPFOR snipers and heavy gunners we were eventually able to push them back! I was ultimately taken out in the northern most side of the forest. Along the walk back to re-spawn I saw a disconcerting sight...our flags…they were gone. I lost sight of my objective, I wasn’t part of the assaulting team. I shouldn’t have gone into that forest. I should have stayed to defend the flags with the rest of the defense team.

(Note: We got a second chance at this game type later in the day. This time we were able to make sure that the OPFOR was not able to grab back the flags we had captured. After the game I received a comment from one of BOE’s team members that they were trying as hard as they possibly could to push up, but that they were unable to gain any ground. Awesome job guys!)

Patience is a virtue, but when the time comes, strike like a snake in the grass.

The last game of the day was a linear flag capture. The teams were mixed and my former teammate and I were chosen to start on the west side of the field. We decided to go as far south as possible and utilize stealth in order to push up on the opponent. Before moving to each piece of cover we made sure to communicate how we were going to do it and when. Because of the limited amount of cover and wide-open areas, we made sure to stay low and move slow. Although the range on my weapon was extremely limited I was sure to be ready to draw some fire away from my teammate if he were to take hard contact out in the open.

We groucho walked our way through the field and made our way up to a pallet house to provide back up to a teammate that was under heavy fire. I made sure to watch the right side of the building and my teammate watched forward left. After trading fire for sometime a counter sniper took out a sniper in the field to our south and we managed to take out some enemies in a thick wooded area up ahead allowing us to push forward. Upon entering the thick wooded area we found some really thick reeds to hunker down in for a quick listening halt. We were about a 200 feet away from the last flag. We were close enough to worry about heavy enemy reinforcements re-spawning in the area, but the woods were far to thick to put the flag under fire. An enemy player walked into view about 25 feet in front of us. I was careful to make sure that my first shot hit, I had a very small window of opportunity and if I were to miss that shot it would have compromised our position.

We completed our listening halt and began to make our way forward very slowly. There was still heavy traffic in the area so we made sure to stay prone. After moving up a bit further we encountered more enemies and quickly took them out. Eventually, our advancement slowed to a halt, the enemy knew we were in the forest and they had some superior weaponry. We waited patiently for back up and only took shots that we knew we could make. With an enemy support gunner on the other side of the woods, we could not afford to allow him to pinpoint our location. A few enemies down and a few minutes later, Ajax, along with some other teammates were able to make it to a position to provide cover fire as we continued to move up. The rest of our team seized the opportunity. With the violence of action of our teammates, and our cover fire through the woods, the team was able to put the flag under fire and capture the last point.

Conclusion (As Written by Fury)

Thank you so much Das for taking the time to write up this AAR and letting us know what you saw and for your amazing advice! I did play at this event but I was not there for long but it was super good to see Das's side of things! Now for you BAR members make sure to comment below so we can talk about the questions that Das posted above! And a big shout out to BOE for an awesome game!

A True American Hero... The Devil of Ramadi

Chris Kyle

Picture
Chris Kyle.

This name may sound a little familiar to you. Can't place your finger as to where you might have heard this name? Let me help you.

Chris Kyle is credited as the most lethal sniper in U.S. Military history. He has saved countless lives. He helped veterans with PTSD. But most of all he was a hero. Chris Kyle was killed at a gun range while helping a Marine with PTSD adjust back to living civilian life. This event really shook up the military world. Before he was killed Chris Kyle wrote an autobiography called "American Sniper", which was a pretty good book. But recently, a movie was released based on the book to represent Chris Kyle and his life. Now, this was not just a movie. This was a powerful and emotionally driven motion picture. It wasn't a Rambo or Terminator style movie with endless bullets and an invincible protagonist. Instead it showed the life of a sheepdog and the struggles of protecting sheep from the wolves of the world.

For the midnight release of this movie, BAR organized a group to go to this event. We were in our BAR uniforms and we were ready for an amazing movie. Those of you who know me will know that I love action movies. Anything with guns, explosions, fight scenes and beards are normally my kind of movie. But "American Sniper" is not your average action movie, in fact it is classified more as a drama movie. Shocking isn't it? But its not so shocking once you sit down and watch this movie. You will realize that Chris Kyle was just your average American trying to do what was right in the world. He wasn't in it for the fame or the fortune, he was in it to make the world a better place. If you asked me, I think he succeeded.

"American Sniper" will definitely tug at the heart strings and really make you think about life and how it is handled. This movie shows the struggles of home life for a combat veteran and how Chris Kyle lived through it and improved. There are some war scenes that may be a bit uncomfortable for a lot of viewers but Clint Eastwood (The Director) wanted this movie to be as realistic as possible. This movie was made to be one of the greatest tributes made to Chris Kyle, in which Clint did a bang up job!

Throughout the whole movie I was super tense and very emotional. Something that just doesn't happen, especially in public. I felt for Chris Kyle, I felt for his wife, I felt for his children. This movie helped solidify the respect I have for Chris Kyle. Now, I know a lot of people do not agree with Chris and his actions but I will stand by this man for all the things he fought for. I never met this man but his actions are felt throughout the world. And the best part? He just wanted to be a good guy. So, in my book he was definitely a good guy, in fact one of the best.

Whatever your opinion is on the War on Terror, please know that this is not some propaganda from the Government. This is just a true story that needed to be told with a lot of good lessons to be learned within. Obviously, I highly recommend this movie. This is a staple movie and should not be missed. I am not just saying this and I really mean it: "American Sniper" is one of the best movies of all time. It truly is a masterpiece and a work of art. Thank you Clint Eastwood and the whole cast and crew for making this motion picture.  Chris Kyle would be proud.

The Fury Within
Picture
Picture
Picture
I feel like its time for people to know a bit about the mysterious guy who runs this website. My intention is to show you that here at Black Angels Recon we arent just some chairsofters or rambos but your average Americans who love this sport. Yes, I called it a sport. If you dont think airsoft is a sport then as an American I respect your views...

So, who is this Fury guy anyways?

Ive had a ton of callsigns in the past: Jag, Lion, Jaggernaut, Apache, Colt, DXC, Storm, etc. For awhile I went just by my first name because it sounded like a codename enough. But... some people thought that I needed a callsign. For 2 years I took a break from airsoft to serve the people of Southern California and I had no callsign whatsoever at this time period. But over a few weeks after I joined BAR a bunch of names came up like the mighty warrior Helaman or Preacher (I was against that one cause in most movies anyone with that callsign dies) but one day it hit me and Noble. I was to be known as Fury.

I felt like it fit me because I specialize in very aggressive play. One of my mottos is "high speed, low drag." I kick down doors and get in the Op4's face. I train to be fast and efficient in clearing rooms. I learned from a firearm instructor once ,"Contrary to popular belief slow and steady doesnt always win the race. Slow means freaking slow!" So obviously, I like to go fast. Im personally working on my patience levels because of my fast lifestyle but it fits in airsoft pretty well.

Any of the Special Operations groups out there will tell you to train like you fight. I try to live that way, I originally started airsoft cause I just thought it was fun, this was about 8 years ago. As I got older I started investing a bit more into airsoft because I was using it as training for a job I was looking at. I would train under former SFG operatives, Rangers, Marines, SEALs, CIA operatives and other units to see how I could improve my fighting skills. Not only did I learn from different individuals but from different environments as well. Ive played in Utah, Idaho, California, Arizona, Texas, Colorado and in Indonesia. Id like to think Ive learned a ton over this time and I definitely have airsoft to thank for that!

When you see me on the field I will normally be wearing my Multicammies in a lightweight loadout. I dislike helmets and Im not a fan of having tons of stuff on me, cause ounces equals pounds and pounds equals pain. The same logic goes for my Primary, the lighter the better. I also prefer my rifle barrels to be at least 12 inches or less. You'll never see me using an AK because Im racist against those varients. I prefer M4s, ACRs or SCARs. Sidearms are normally a 1911 type. But... I have a soft spot for Desert Eagles. They are definitely against my mantra of high speed, low drag but... Desert Eagles are sexy so I run 2 of them sometimes! I am all about efficiency but sometimes a guy just needs to look good! Which is why I want to get a hold of some Kryptek Highlander!

Overall I just love airsoft! Its helped me grow a few ways and improved my ability to speak with people. Let's face it, you cant really airsoft if you dont make any friends. Its possible but then the games kind of get a little boring over time. But thats why I joined Black Angels Recon, not only are we super organized but we love to have fun! There are true friendships made between our Angels and we really do care about each other! Its really a huge family!

But thats enough about me! Let me know what you thought of this post and what youd like to see in the future! Thank you for your support! Until next time...

Building up the suspense...

This day was a different day than what BAR is really used to. But its days like this that make me proud to be a part of such an awesome team, yet we are not just a team, we are a community. Normally, we start games at 0900 sharp, every Saturday. But we decided to spruce up our exclusive field and make it more battle-ready. So, at 0730 we started improvements on the field. We had quite a few guys show up. A few were not even part of BAR but they still came to help!

The ideas came from Noble and they became a reality by Gunslinger. The rest of us were really free labor. When I say us I mean everyone that wasn't me because I was ummm... supervising... yes thats the word for it. Then we found a puddle of goo. Yes, goo. Not a clue what it was or who put it there but Im going to start blaming aliens. Darn aliens. But jokes aside we really made the field look good. There was a 2-floor bunker that we built, thanks to Noble and his wacky ideas and numerous other smaller structures scattered throughout the map. Overall it was really awesome but guys like me could not wait to get started to actually use these fortifications!

Ascending...

PictureYin-Yang with his unbelievable set up
Now that the building and beautifying was done it was really time to play! We started things off with a quick force-on-force game just to get people warmed up. I tripped again... er... I mean did a tactical roll. My M36 was crapping out on me so, I was running around with a pistol. Of course I didnt kill anything.

But then the Try-Outs really started. We had sooooooo many guys come to run try-outs! By far it was the most we have ever seen! It was so big we had to split the group into two! You knew we were really in for a good time! My primary decided to start working but she was being picky with what mags she would work with. So, I spent a lot of time smacking her but I still had fun.

The first 2 games we ran was an objective game where a single player had to touch a blue vehicle and that was game. Now the problem is, the defending team was ready for this and there was always heavy pressure applied. The Try-Out team had to travel a road until fired upon. As soon as someone fired at them they could leave the road and go wherever they wanted to reach the blue objective. The first group, Alpha from now on, had a very aggressive tactic. They just hit the road in mass and tried to take the blue objective as quick as possible. But I was the lead man on the ambush, I waited for a few men to get past me and then came the killzone. I lit up 3 guys personally (I would have got more but Sarge's curvy body absorbed a few of my shots)  and quite  a few others were hit as well. But Alpha sure put up a heck of a fight. But eventually they all started dying out.

Now the 2nd team (Bravo) was up. They took a very interesting route. They sent 2 men to be a distraction. I felt horrible lighting these guys up because I knew that they sacrificed themselves but... that definitely told me these guys were Angel material. Later on Yin-Yang revived them from the goodness of his heart so these guys could actually play. Bravo tried to flank us real hard but eventually they started dying out as well. Unfortunately, they could not complete the objective either.

After some time to reload and refuel we started up the 2nd part of tryouts, which was to defend a position for 30 minutes. Alpha was first of course and they defended that shiny new 2-level bunker we created. The OpFor team had the craziest idea of just creating a wall of fire. Like we all stacked up and walked down the road towards 2-Story and we were guns blazing. The plan was to use the dead bodies as cover as we started dying but apparently I was the only one that did that. But after a long hard fight we took them pretty hard. Noble got some real good knife kills cause he pretended to be dead. Friggin Noble.

Bravo was next up and they did something different. Again. This time they sent out some guys to distract us and they held some positions like crazy. I got killed 3 times by someone I couldnt see, but that was definitely a good game. Neither team was able to hold for 30 minutes but they all fought valiantly.

Flying high...

Noble pulled aside Alpha and Bravo and confirmed who had made it onto the team and who had to work on a few things. Long story short we had a lot of guys join BAR and I was really happy to see that. I want to give a shout out to Bacon cause I stuck with him for awhile and he definitely saved my life once or twice.

There were a few guys who did not make it. This paragraph is for you, although you did not make BAR this time around dont give up. Most of the time, the reason we dont approve in the first try out is because we have never seen you play and that maybe try-outs was the first and only time we have seen you. So keep playing and keep up your rep and you'll get on in no time.

Also some helpful advice, really listen to what the leaders say. Our Noble leader (Ha see what I did there?) had to repeat a few things way too many times. A good player will be able to think on his/her feet and make quick decisions. You cant do that if youre trying to figure out something that wasnt complicated. And a big one, I saw one player not call his hits quite a few times. You know who you are, so make sure you're honest about playing. BAR is all about honesty. So our players need to reflect that.

But all in all it was such a good day. We kept playing games afterwards but some of us were really getting pooped. I had to work so I bugged out early as well. I had such a good time and I cannot wait until we try out our new AO next week! Until then...

I was expecting a low headcount for this game. Mainly because it was the Thanksgiving weekend and the strong winds wasnt exactly ideal.

Boy am I glad that I was wrong! We had a very healthy turnout and had around 45 players for the day. Sure, it was a bit smaller than what we are used to but it was still a blast to play.

We did a few different gametypes and really had to exercise our minds as well as our bodies fo figure out how to achieve our objectives. The first game we played was called "Lone Ranger", in which we designated 2 rangers and their objective was to kill everyone on the opposing team. Once a player from the opposing team fell then he had to switch sides to the Ranger team. I really have to hand it to the original Rangers. They really tore up the rest of us. That game definitely didnt last long!

I was very grateful for the very short breaks we had. I feel like at most places the breaks are a little too long. But orWe had enough time to refuel,  load up on ammo, get hydrated and then we jumped back into the games!

We ran a quick team deathmatch round. It was suppose to last for 20 minutes but... it ended up becoming 50 minutes because Gunslinger doesnt know how to count.

For you COD fans we were able to play a real life version of Kill Confirmed. that was definitely a lot dfferent than what I am used to but it was still super fun! we played for 20 minutes but it seemed like it was forever. This was when I fell down a little hill. Notw to self: buy knee pads.

I had to bug out early around 12 because I had to  get my car in the shop. Before I left, Daren Holt and his talented friend brought turkey and rolls for everyone to enjoy! He prepped for 28 because thats how many RSVPs we got on Facebook. We still had enough for everyone though. But this is a perk for registering online for our games! You never know what you get!

Make sure you register for next week's game! See you in the flight!
